As a Senior Pastor, she has cultivated a palatable and tenured approach to recognizing the importance of mental wellness both in and out of religious sects. By utilizing her extensive experiences spiritually and psychiatric education, Dr. Rivers seeks to help her patients thrive through life's challenges.

The movements utilized in EMDR imitate the way that eyes move when you are in REM sleep, the state where the brain is processing memories. You are experiencing the trauma and the sensation, then the bilateral stimulation reminds you that you are safe and with your therapist. EMDR desensitizes the fragmented memories and allow the brain to reprocess.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological treatment that works to change thinking patterns. Some of the focuses during a CBT session may involve learning to identify the distorted thinking that is causing issues. Learning what motivates the behavior. Building problem solving skills, facing the fears that clouds the ability to make good decisions. Learning to center one’s mind and relaxing the body through mindfulness.

Focus Therapy is a method of therapy addresses an immediate issue and assist in reaching possible solutions.  Focus Therapy places the client in the driver’s seat with the therapist as the navigator gently encouraging the client to develop their own solution that benefits them. Focus therapy is idea for clients that are seeking guidance and my need some help organizing their thoughts.

Talk Therapy gives the client an opportunity to speak freely about serious issues without judgement. As the client begins to share the therapist is there for support.

 

Talk Therapy can help with the clients mood and outlook on specific issues.

Laughter therapy can be a key to healing depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders. It also can ease physical ailments.
